Design Phase for Leesburg South Fire and Rescue Set for Fall 2023 Completion

The design phase for the Leesburg South Fire and Rescue Station project is set to be completed in fall 2023 (October/November/December). The project provides for the design and construction of a new 26,000 square foot facility on a five-acre site at the intersection of Evergreen Mills Road and The Woods Road in Leesburg. The project team is currently developing the design plans to 100% completion in preparation for the construction phase, estimated to begin in spring 2024. About the Project

This project will design and construct a new 26,000 square foot Fire and Rescue and Hazmat facility on a five-acre site at the intersection of Evergreen Mills Road and The Woods Road in Leesburg. The new station will have five bays to house an engine, ambulance, tanker, and hazmat and command officer vehicles, and will include a training room and hazmat response storage area.

Board Approves Construction Contract Award for the Lovettsville Fire and Rescue Station #12

At their December 6, 2022 Board of Supervisors (Board) meeting, the Board approved the Finance/Government Operations and Economic Development Committee’s (FGOEDC)’s recommendation to award a construction contract to Carlson Brothers, Inc. to build the Lovettsville Fire and Rescue Station #12 Replacement. 

The proposed facility is approximately 19,200 Square Feet, including first floor and mezzanine areas. The project includes construction of a one-story structure including four apparatus bays, apparatus support spaces, bunk rooms, administrative offices, shower and locker areas, kitchen, dining, and mechanical mezzanine.

Located on Berlin Turnpike in Lovettsville, VA, the current Lovettsville Fire Station building was erected in 1974 and has had two subsequent additions built. Fire station 12 houses an engine, tanker, basic life support ambulance and brush truck.
