Posted on August 19, 2022 at 3:49 PM by Heidi Kellum

The newly constructed segment of Crosstrail Boulevard from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway (Segment B) opened to traffic today, August 19, 2022. This new four-lane, median-divided road segment provides a connection from Sycolin Road near Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park to Route 7. It will also serve as an alternate route to both Battlefield Parkway to the north and Cochran Mill Road to the south and will improve access to Loudoun Soccer’s facility and the Loudoun United soccer stadium.

Loudoun County celebrated the completion of construction for the Crosstrail Boulevard Segment B project with a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 26, 2022. The Crosstrail Boulevard Segment B project constructed a four-lane, median-divided roadway from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway. It also included a bridge over the W&OD Trail Regional Park, a bridge over Tuscarora Creek, five storm water retention facilities and direct pedestrian or bicycle connection between the W&OD Trail and Crosstrail Boulevard.

In a future project, Crosstrail Boulevard will be extended beyond Sycolin Road to link to the Dulles Greenway interchange at Shreve Mill Road. The county is scheduled to begin design and development later this year; construction will not begin prior to 2024.
