Posted on March 17, 2022 at 3:33 PM by Heidi Kellum

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and the departments of Parks, Recreation and Community Services and Transportation and Capital Infrastructure will celebrate the grand opening of the Lovettsville Community Park with a ribbon cutting Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend the ceremony and enjoy the park’s amenities.

The park is located at 12565 Milltown Road in Lovettsville, across the street from the Lovettsville Community Center, and is connected to the Lovettsville Elementary School.

This project provided funding to construct a community park on approximately 90 acres, partially within the Town of Lovettsville. Loudoun County, the Town of Lovettsville, the Lovettsville Park Advisory Committee, and the Lovettsville Community Center Advisory Board worked together to develop the park.

This project includes the construction of 90 acres of park facilities including equestrian trails and an equestrian arena, walking trails, an “off-leash” dog park, community gardens, a pond, an amphitheater, rectangular athletic fields, diamond athletic fields, concession stand, restrooms, and parking lots.

For information about facility hours, programs and rentals, visit loudoun.gov/prcs or call 703-430-9480. For more information about the grand opening, email the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services.

Major Construction at Lovettsville Community Park is Wrapping Up

Posted on October 14, 2021 at 3:39 PM by Heidi Kellum

Major construction at Lovettsville Community Park is wrapping up. The park project includes the construction of features and buildings that will complete a 90-acre park facility located near East Broadway, Lovettsville Road and Milltown Road in Lovettsville.

Crews recently completed major construction work on the park grounds and facilities, including laying Bermuda sod at all athletic fields, asphalt paving work at the equestrian parking area and maintenance road, and light level testing at the athletic fields. Work to install park signage and establish permanent grass throughout the park is nearing completion.

Over the next several weeks, crews will work on punch list items until the certificate of occupancy is received and the park is returned to Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) for management. For safety, and as this is an active construction site until the park is opened by PRCS, no trespassing during construction.

This is the final construction update that will be provided on this project as major construction is now concluded and the park will open soon. For more information about this project, visit the project page.

Light Level Testing at Lovettsville Community Park Scheduled for October 5

Posted on September 16, 2021 at 2:50 PM by Heidi Kellum

Loudoun County has rescheduled light level testing at the Lovettsville Community Park for the evening hours of Tuesday, October 5, 2021, weather permitting. Residents will notice increased activity at the park prior to the testing date.

During the testing, lighting for the three rectangular fields and the four baseball diamond fields will be turned on and off and dimmed. The county will begin testing at dusk and will continue for several hours. If inclement weather delays testing, plans call for the test to be rescheduled to October 6, 2021.

The light level testing is part of the ongoing project to construct the 90-acre park facility located near East Broad Way, Lovettsville Road and Milltown Road in Lovettsville. Construction on the facility is scheduled for completion in fall 2021. For more information about the construction project, visit the project page at loudoun.gov/lovettsvillepark.
