The design phase for the Braddock Road project to widen the road between the St. Paul VI High School entrance and Loudoun County Parkway in Chantilly is currently set to be completed in winter 2025 (January/February/March). The design team is currently developing 60% design plans, which includes additional field survey, utility designations, and geotechnical exploration. During this phase, the designers confirm that the project can be constructed and that the submitted plans and specifications meets the objectives of the project.

The project’s Right of Way phase is currently estimated to begin winter 2025 upon completion of the design phase. More information about Loudoun County Capital Project phases is provided at loudoun.gov/capitalprojects.

About the Project

This project provides for the planning, design, right-of-way acquisition and construction to widen Braddock Road (Route 620) to a four-lane median-divided roadway from the eastern entrance of St. Paul VI High School to Loudoun County Parkway in Aldie. In addition, the project will provide 10 ft. wide shared-use paths on both sides of the road.

Construction of the improvements is currently estimated to begin winter 2028.
