The 100% design plans for Crosstrail Boulevard: Sycolin Road to the Dulles Greenway (Segment C) project have been approved by Loudoun County Building & Development and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The right of way phase for this project has begun and is estimated to be completed in the summer 2024 (July/August/September). The Crosstrail Boulevard Extension project provides for the design and the construction of a new four-lane, median-divided road between Sycolin Road and the Dulles Greenway interchange, replacing the eastern segment of Shreve Mill Road as the means to get from the Dulles Greenway to Sycolin Road. Relocation of existing utilities that is necessary to make way for the new roadway will begin in summer 2024, following completion of the right of way phase. The length of this Crosstrail Boulevard project is approximately 2,700 linear feet. In addition to the new roadway, the project includes a four-span bridge over the south tributary to Sycolin Creek and 10 ft. shared-use paths on both sides of the new road. Funding for this project is from the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority and local funds.
