Public Input Meeting Feb. 15 on Accessibility of County Services for People with Disabilities

Posted on February 2, 2024 at 3:30 PM by Nancy McCormick

Loudoun County will hold a public meeting to gather community members’ input on the accessibility of county services for people with disabilities, including county-sponsored programs, activities and facilities. The public input meeting will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m., at the Government Center, 1 Harrison St. S.E. in Leesburg. The meeting will be held on the first floor in the Board Room.

The public input meeting is part of an update to the county’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan, or ADA study. At this meeting, the public will receive an overview of the project and have the opportunity to provide input regarding the accessibility of county facilities, programs, and services. Comments received at the session will help the county identify any barriers impeding participation in the county’s programs, services and activities by people with disabilities. This includes, but is not limited: to obtaining a permit, paying a fee, participating in a recreational program and attending a public meeting. Together with responses to the recent ADA survey, the comments will also help inform the county’s transition plan to address any barriers to improving access for individuals with disabilities.

Written comments may be submitted to the Office of Public Affairs and Communications through an online form. The deadline to submit written comments is 5:30 p.m., February 15, 2024.

Anyone who requires reasonable accommodation for any type of disability or who needs language assistance to participate in the meeting may contact the Office of Public Affairs and Communications at 703-777-0113 or send an email for assistance.

More information about the county’s ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan and to sign up for email and text updates on the project, can be found at loudoun.gov/adastudy.
