We Want to Hear from You! Survey on Route 50 Corridor Closes March 1

Posted on February 27, 2024 at 9:40 AM by Heidi Kellum

On February 15, 2024, Loudoun County hosted a meeting to gain input from the public on their experiences on the Route 50 corridor from Northstar Boulevard to the Fauquier County line. The presentation shown at that meeting is available on the project page at loudoun.gov/route50study under Meeting Documents.  As part of the study process, following the public meeting, Loudoun County launched an online survey to gather input on safety and operational issues on the corridor.

Please take the survey at the link below and share the link with your community. Your input will help guide the study team to better understand the safety and operational issues on this segment of the Route 50 corridor. The survey closes on Friday, March 1, 2024.

The project consists of a safety and operational study of approximately 14 miles of Route 50 from Northstar Boulevard to the Fauquier County line. The purpose of the study is to ensure that this segment of Route 50 continues to carry local and commuter traffic safely and efficiently.  The study will examine existing conditions, current traffic counts, crash history and consider projected future traffic volumes.

During public input meetings, members of the public will be encouraged to provide input on the study corridor. Members of the public can provide feedback throughout the study on the Route 50 corridor by emailing the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI).

The county anticipates the study will be completed in early 2025. Once complete, the results will be presented to the Board of Supervisors with recommended improvements that can be implemented in phases.
