Progress Made on Pool Construction at the Ashburn Recreation and Community Center

Posted on March 21, 2024 at 2:36 PM by Heidi Kellum

Progress has been made by crews constructing swimming pools at the new Ashburn Recreation and Community Center, currently under construction off of Broadland’s Boulevard in Ashburn. Installation of the competition and leisure pool walls, gutters, bulkhead and underground piping has been completed. In addition, concrete has been poured for both pool decks and bleachers.

Crews have also completed the installation of the building’s exterior sheathing, vapor barrier, and skylights. Throughout the project, work to rough-in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is ongoing.

In the coming weeks, crews will complete the remaining steel work, complete roofing installation, and wall panel installation. Crews will also complete sprinkler and underground storm utility work. Plumbing, electrical, and ductwork will continue throughout the building.

This project is currently on schedule for completion in summer 2025. When construction is substantially complete, the facility will be turned over to the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) for programming. More information about Loudoun County Capital Projects and phases is provided at loudoun.gov/capitalprojects.
