Posted on April 1, 2024 at 1:36 PM by Heidi Kellum

Work to construct a traffic signal on Braddock Road is underway as part of the ongoing improvement project at the intersection of Braddock Road (Route 620) and Supreme Drive (Route 1257) and Summerall Drive (Route 1258) in Aldie. In the coming weeks, crews will complete signal construction and coordinate with the Virginia Department of Transportation to begin the signal activation process.

Area residents will continue to see work performed in the median, milling and paving activities, and crews applying pavement markings in the roadway over the next several weeks.

Substantial completion of the Braddock Road intersection improvements is currently estimated for summer 2024. More information about Loudoun County Capital Projects and phases is provided at loudoun.gov/capitalprojects.

About the Project
The Braddock Road and Summerall Drive and Supreme Drive Intersection Improvement project provides for the installation of a traffic signal and turn lanes at the intersection of Braddock Road (Route 620) and Supreme Drive (Route 1257) and Summerall Drive (Route 1258). In addition, the 0.73-mile segment of Braddock Road near the intersection will be widened from two to four lanes and a 10 ft. wide shared use path will be installed along the north side of Braddock Road from the end of the existing path at the Greenfield Crossing community to the existing path at the Braddock Corner community.

The project contractor, Van Metre Homes at Braddock, L.L.C., is also constructing proffered offsite improvements in this area, including widening Braddock Road from two to four lanes between Royal Hunter Drive and Gum Spring Road (Route 659). Both segments of Braddock Road are currently estimated to be completed in summer 2024.
