Construction is progressing on the segment of Crosstrail Boulevard from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway in Leesburg, as crews recently completed the installation of stormwater infrastructure and curb and gutter installation between the WO&D Bridge and the Tuscarora Creek Bridge. The work is part of a County project to extend existing Crosstrail Boulevard from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway. Crews also completed work on both bridge approaches, connecting bridge decks to the adjacent roadway.
For the next several weeks, crews will continue fine grading to prepare for seeding in unpaved areas. Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed in winter 2023.
The project will construct a new four-lane, median divided road cross section, extending Crosstrail Boulevard from Kincaid Boulevard to Russell Branch Parkway. When completed, Crosstrail Boulevard will provide a new connection between Sycolin Road near Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park and Route 7.
