LCSO Graduates Two from Virginia School of Polygraph

 Loudoun County, VA-
Two detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office graduated this week from the Virginia School of Polygraph.

Detective Ryan Schmidt, a 9-year veteran of the agency, and Detective Elissa Wilk, an 11-year-veteran, are both assigned to the Special Victims Unit in the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.

The 10-week course provides 400 hours of individualized instruction, which is designed to prepare the student to conduct any type of professional polygraph examination and includes the fundamentals of a polygraph, examination techniques, question formulation, chart interpretation and legal aspects.

The Virginia School of Polygraph is credited by the American Polygraph Association (APA), recognized by the American Association of Police Polygraphists (AAPP), and is in compliance with all Virginia state and local licensing requirements.

The classes were held at the Newport News Police Department. A total of seven members from law enforcement graduated from the program.
