FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 15, 2019

Loudoun County, VA- Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman is proud to announce that Captain TJ DeLitta has graduated from the 275th session of the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.

Captain DeLitta was one of 253 veteran law enforcement officers who graduated March 15, 2019, from the 10-week program. Captain DeLitta is an over 18-year veteran of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. He began his career as a deputy in the Field Operations Division. He has worked as a School Resource Officer and held supervisory positions in patrol, including as a 1st Lieutenant as the assistant station commander of the Western Loudoun Station. Captain DeLitta is currently the station commander for the Eastern Loudoun Station.

“This prestigious program increases the professionalism of our leadership staff and is part of the reason the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is a premier law enforcement agency in our region and in the country,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman

Captain DeLitta is the 27th member of the Loudoun Sheriff’s Office senior staff to have graduated from the FBI Academy since 1970 when then-Sheriff Robert W. Legard completed the training with the 86th session.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, offers 10-weeks of advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.  On average, these officers have 21-years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.
