Loudoun County, VA (January 29, 2024) – On Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) was honored to provide Master Deputy Jeremy Krapfl with a motor escort home after he spent more than two weeks in a local hospital and rehabilitation facility.
On January 11, MD Krapfl and Deputy First Class Brian Plaugher were on their motorcycles responding to a motor vehicle crash on Watson Road in Leesburg when they were struck by an oncoming vehicle that crossed into their lane. Both were immediately transported to the hospital, and DFC Plaugher was treated and released the same day. MD Krapfl suffered significant injuries to his left leg, has undergone four surgeries, and still has a lengthy recovery ahead.
The LCSO is grateful for the participation of so many of our deputies and command staff in yesterday’s escort as well as the support of the Fairfax County Police Department, Town of Leesburg Police Department, and Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Police Department.
