UPDATE:
Loudoun County, VA (August 18, 2023) – The driver involved in the fatal single-vehicle crash on August 16, 2023, has been identified as 22-year-old, Angel Hernandez Perez, of Manassas, VA.
The crash occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. in the area of Bull Run Post Office Road and Cedar Ridge Boulevard in Chantilly.
Preliminarily, investigators with the LCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit determined that the operator of the 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, Mr. Hernandez Perez, was traveling southbound on Bull Run Post Office Road when it left the roadway, rolled over, and struck a utility pole. The passenger in the vehicle was transported to an area hospital and has since been released. Both the driver and the passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

Loudoun County, VA (August 17, 2023) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred last evening in Chantilly.
Last evening, at approximately 8:10 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Bull Run Post Office Road and Cedar Ridge Boulevard in Chantilly, for a report of a passenger vehicle that overturned and struck a utility pole. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, was pronounced deceased on the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time the identity of the deceased is not being released, pending next of kin notification.
The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash. Witnesses to the crash who have not already spoken with law enforcement are asked to contact Investigator M. Lotz at 703-771-1021.
