Loudoun County, VA- The suspect in a Wednesday afternoon carjacking in Sterling was quickly apprehended by deputies with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) in the area of Loudoun County Parkway and Route 50.
The incident began in the parking lot of the Regal Center in CountrySide around noon on May 8, where the victim was finishing unloading groceries into her vehicle. The suspect approached the victim and asked for her keys before pushing her out of the way. He then took her keys and fled the area in the victim’s vehicle. The victim received minor injuries.
LCSO Deputies were able to quickly establish a track of the vehicle utilizing the stolen cars in-vehicle security and emergency services system. Deputies tracked the vehicle to Loudoun County Parkway where they stopped traffic and located the suspect in the stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody shortly before 12:40 p.m.
The suspect, Sandeep Singh, 28, of Sterling was charged with carjacking and is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
