[ARCHIVED] LCSO Sergeant Graduates from Penn State Police Executive Development Program

Loudoun County, VA (May 17, 2021) – Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman is proud to announce that Sergeant Jose Giron graduated from the Penn State Justice and Safety Institute Police Executive Development (POLEX) training program.

POLEX is a 10-day course designed to provide new and experienced commanders with a problem-based approach to resolving challenges. The key concepts of POLEX include principles of leadership, managing liability, and organizational development.

Sgt. Giron is a 20-year veteran of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and is a supervisor in the nationally recognized School Resource Officer (SRO) program. Sgt. Giron was hired in 2000 in patrol, and previously served a supervisor in the Field Operations Division in the Eastern Loudoun Station. He is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

“Our leadership staff continue to receive training at the highest levels, this is part of the reason the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is one of the premier law enforcement agencies in our region, and in the country,” said Sheriff Chapman.

Penn State’s Justice and Safety Institute (JASI) has been providing its POLEX training program on a national basis for more than 20 years.
