UPDATE (January 24, 2024)- The registration for the Loudoun County Citizens' Police Academy is closed. We appreciate the overwhelming interest from the citizens of Loudoun County.
The next Citizens’ Police Academy will be held in Fall 2024.
Loudoun County, VA (January 23, 2024) –The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is proud to announce the commencement of its 51st Citizens’ Police Academy on March 7, 2024. This session will begin our 26th year of fostering community engagement by helping citizens better understand law enforcement operations in Loudoun County.
Since its inception, over 1,200 members of our community have graduated from the LCSO’s Citizens’ Police Academy. Participation is open to Loudoun County residents over the age of 18, and classes are purposefully small to promote interaction. Registration is free, and available on a first-come, first-served basis. One of the highlights of each session is the opportunity for class members to participate in a ride-along with a deputy, offering a first-hand experience of the challenges and rewards of keeping Loudoun safe.
The upcoming session will meet every Thursday from March 7 through May 23, beginning at 7:00 PM. Each class will be approximately 2.5 hours in length and locations will vary.
This is the first of two Citizens’ Police Academies to be sponsored by the LCSO this year, with the next one beginning this Fall.
